As I mentioned in my previous post, if you can only go to one restaurant while you’re in Florence, this is it. Trattoria Dall’ Oste is the perfect example of what Italian hospitality is all about. Carmine, Raffaele and Nicolo, were the perfect hosts and were even kind enough to invite me to come back the next day to cook in the kitchen with their Chef, Massimo.
We cooked various dishes and they showed me how a true kitchen in Florence runs. It was incredibly eye opening to see the way they operated, they definitely do things differently in an Italian kitchen!
Some of the dishes we made were pappardelle with salmone and zucchini and filet. I wish I could translate the smells coming out of that kitchen but it was indescribable! The below photo will have to leave things up to your imagination:
